Ink to Pixels: Game of Thrones

For those of you who have been living in the dark and shuttered away in your cave of productivity, Game of Thrones is pretty much the essence of awesome. Dragons, adventure, and gore are just three of the many things that make Game of Thrones the fantastic series it is, and a great fantasy drama.

“I enjoy the action scenes and back-stabbings in the show. The acting is fine and the plot is very engaging and I believe it’s good quality television,” said Game of Thrones enthusiast Marcel Knezevic.

Game of Thrones airs on HBO on Sundays at 9pm, but if you don’t like the magical contraption that is your television, you could always read the books. The book series consists of five books. It’s more convenient and just as good.

“My favorite parts about Game of Thrones is everything, from the plot twists, dragons, the slave army, and all of the deception,” said Junior Jake Bye.

There are many different plot lines in Game of Thrones, all taking place across the continents of Westeros and Essos after a really long winter. Through the different plot lines, the show explores many issues using its morally obscure characters. Some examples of the issues in the show are civil war, social hierarchy, religion, crime, murder, and punishment.

Game of Thrones contains lots of drama and intense action, so unless you’re weak to blood and gore, you should definitely watch this show.

My name is Liam Bird and I am a junior here at DHS. What I like the most about Journalism is the fact that I can freely write about what I want and what interests me and getting to know teachers and students better through interviews. My favorite thing about DHS is hanging out with friends at lunch because after all the stress and work of class, it’s nice to be able to chill for an hour with friends. Two of my favorite places in Dublin are Hacienda Crossings because it’s a nice environment and a perfect place to hang out with friends and the Dublin Library because it’s the place where I can study in peace and quiet and manage to get a lot of work done. In my freetime, I like to hang out at a friend’s house or walk around in Dublin.
