Football Season in Full Swing

As students have been settling into classes, football season has been in full swing. Though we haven’t had any home games yet, Dublin has already played 5 games with both Varsity and JV maintaining a winning record of 4-1. While Varsity tasted defeat against the notorious James Logan Mustangs, JV has fallen to Laguna Creek.

Last week, when the Gaels played against Deer Valley high school in Antioch, California, both teams secured a win with scores of 35 to 12 for JV and 48-20 Varsity. Though they’ve been playing incredibly well, even the wins haven’t been easy games for the Gaels. This week, the Gaels will face San Ramon Valley, one of the most competitive teams in the north coast, with several players that have already committed to playing Division 1 college football. While the junior varsity team has forfeited due to an internal incident, the varsity will be playing in San Ramon at 7:15 on Friday. If you can, get a group of friends together and show our Gaels some support at the game.

Next week, the Gaels will be playing their homecoming game, and the first home game against Granada High School on Friday, October 4th. Though the Matadors defeated the Gaels last year, our team is eager to play them again and optimistic about success. The game will take place in the remodeled stadium with new turf from Levi’s stadium. It’s expected that the field will be ready by early next week.
