DHS Band and Color Guard Have a Fantastic Field Show Season
The DHS Marching Band and Color Guard just recently completed their marching season, and students in the band couldn’t be more proud of all their accomplishments this year.
“This season went by so fast. I wish it would never end.” said percussionist Jenny Tsai a few moments after performing the field show for the last time.
This year has been a memorable one for the Dublin High School Marching Band and Color Guard because it is defined by a series of first place wins, and in one case, sweepstakes.
“Two words. It’s lit.” said sophomore sousaphone J.T Happ when asked how he thought the season went.
Many other members of the DHS Marching Band and Color Guard were also excited about their season, but there were definitely some sad faces after the band performed their field show for the last time. The seniors especially felt emotional after they performed their field show because they knew all too well that it would be their last.
“Band has made me a better person. I wouldn’t change my experiences for the world, good or bad,” said senior flute and piccolo player Jessica Shipps.
Senior and mallet specialist Winnie Xu added, “I loved this season very much! It is a fortune for me to end my high school marching band with such an amazing season.”
The freshmen also learned from their first field show season, and they treasured the memories as much as the seniors did.
Freshman and clarinet player Brandon Kim said, “I can’t believe how fast the season passed. It took a lot of hard work and dedication, but it all paid off in our final performance.”
The marching band and color guard earned one second place award at Foothill High School and three first place awards at Dublin High School, Vintage High School, and Fairfield High School. They also earned many awards for their outstanding woodwinds, brass, percussion, and color guard.
Congratulations to the DHS Irish Guard for another amazing season!
