The Nightmare Before Christmas

It is no surprise that one of the most popular Halloween movies to watch is The Nightmare Before Christmas. Although debated as either a Halloween movie or a Christmas movie, this movie tends to be more oriented toward the fall season. The Nightmare Before Christmas follows Jack Skellington, the king of Halloween, as he plots to kidnap Santa Claus and take over his power.

Coraline

Coraline is considered by many high school students to be the scariest kids’ Halloween movie they had watched in their childhood. However, the sewing of buttons over eyes does not blind the audience to Coraline’s unique story. Coraline is about a young girl who discovers a hidden door to another similar dimension, but as she uncovers more about the true qualities of the new world, she realizes that she has to overcome her own obstacles to make it back to her own dimension.

Hocus Pocus

If you like witches, then this movie is for you! Hocus Pocus follows the story of a teenage boy, Max Dennison, and his sister, Dani Dennison. One night both siblings explore a haunted house where they suddenly find three witches. These witches devise a plan to give themselves immortality and it is up to Max and Deni to fix the problem they started.

Corpse Bride

Corpse Bride is a love story created by the well-known filmmaker, Tim Burton. As Victor is arranged to marry Victoria, he goes to the woods to practice his wedding vows. However, when he gets his vows right, a dead bride, Emily, buried in those woods rises from the dead since she believes that they are now married. Victor is then pulled into the Land of the Dead and has to choose between marrying Emily or Victoria.

Hotel Transylvania

Known as one of the most beloved Halloween movie series, Hotel Transylvania mixes the concepts of mythical creatures and family. The main summary of this movie is that the hotel founder, Count Dracula, raises his daughter to fear the human world, but when a disguised human falls in love with Dracula’s daughter, the entire reliability of the hotel ceases to exist.
