Boys Baseball

This year, the Varsity Dublin baseball team has posted up a record of 11-13, including a record of 3-10 against other teams in the East Bay Athletic League. This places the team at 5th place in the East Bay Athletic League with high school teams Livermore, Granada, Amador Valley, and Football ahead of Dublin High in terms of standings. In the North Coast Section Division 1 League, the DHS Varsity team is ranked at 23rd place out of 25 teams. The Junior Varsity team, on the other hand, posted up a record of 9-12, including a record of 6-4 against other teams in the EBAL. The freshmen team ended up with a record of 14-7, including a record of 2-2 against other teams in the EBAL. The team has shown a lot spirit this year, however, and are optimistic to improve their chances next year!    

Coed Swimming

In terms of meets, the Dublin High Swim Team had a solid season. For the boys’ team, the varsity team had the record of 4-5 and Junior Varsity had the record of 9-0. Sophomore Varsity swimmer Justin Tsai stated that “This year was my second year as a varsity swimmer on the Dublin High swim team. Although this year the boy’s varsity meet record worsened, the team as a whole improved. Our JV boys went almost undefeated for the season and Dublin High had its first relay team make the CIF State meet. Not only did our swimmers improve their times, but also attendance at practices increased greatly. Many of our previous high school individual and relay records were shattered this year as well. We are a young team as the majority of the swimmers are underclassmen, so next year we are looking to improve our meet record and hopefully host some home meets.” The girls’ varsity team ended with the record of 3-4 and the junior varsity team ended with the record of 1-6. Sophomore varsity swimmer Claire Suen stated “The team came together this year and we had so much fun competing against the other schools. I think everyone did incredibly well and I hope everyone who swam this year joins the team again next year!”

Girls Softball

The Girls Softball team ended with the overall record of 9-13 and a record of 4-9 in the EBAL. This places the team in 14th place in the Division 1 Standings, where they are also tied record-wise with San Ramon Valley and Dougherty Valley High. In the EBAL standings, the team is in 7th place and is tied with San Ramon Valley, Dougherty Valley, and Livermore High.

Coed Track and Field

Following their success in the 2017 season, The Coed Track and Field team had another great season. The team dominated at several major meets such as the Skyline Invitational, Dan Gabor Sprint and Distance Festival, EBAL Center Meet, Dublin Distance Fiesta, Bronco Roundup Distance Carnival, Oakland Invitational Relays, EBAL Meet vs Foothill, Stanford Invitational, Arcadia Invitational, Granada Sprint and Distance Festival, EBAL vs. Granada, Northern California Frosh/Soph Championships, Sacramento Meet of Champions, Clash of the Titans, EBAL Championship Finals, North Coast Section Tri-Valley Championships, and North Coast Section Meet of Champions. In addition, the girls’ team made history this year as they became EBAL Champions and NCSTV Champions. Junior Varsity Runner Loic Scomparin stated “I would define the team as a second family- we all care for each other and support each other. Track and field is mostly a sport where you compete individually, but you are in a team with like-minded people who enjoy working hard. The team had amazing accomplishments this year with the girls’ team winning the EBAL and NCS championships, and the boys winning in the 1600 meters relay at the Arcadia Invitational. However, in my opinion, the biggest impact the team has had on me is through shaping me a person by developing new friendships and qualities like discipline and perseverance. I’m doing cross country next year and I would like to go for some school records, both individually and as a team, especially winning the state championships.” With an important meet in the way, the CIF Track and Field States Championship, hopefully, the Track and Field Team can continue with their success and RUN off with it.  

Boys Volleyball

This year, the Varsity team ended its season with an overall record of 4-15 and a 3-15 record in the EBAL. The team sits at 9th place in the EBAL and won against teams Castro Valley, Livermore (twice), and Dougherty Valley High. Junior Varsity player Derek Zhang commented that “During the off-season, more than half of us (varsity) played club volleyball, so we definitely all improved as individual players. The returning players including myself gained a lot of experience and now we just have to come together and work as a family.” The Junior Varsity team finished its season with the record of 5-2 overall and 4-2 in the EBAL. Great job to the volleyball team and good luck next year!

Boys Lacrosse

With an overall record of 1-18, the boys’ lacrosse team finished its season with the only win coming from a game against Washington High where Dublin High beat Washington 20-3 on February 23rd. In the East Bay Athletic League, the boys’ lacrosse team sits at last place, with the record of 0-9. Despite their lackluster record, the Lacrosse teams are close-knit and motivated to put a year’s worth of hard work into improving their teams.

Boys Tennis

The Boys Tennis team emerged with an overall record of 1-16 and sits at 10th place in the East Bay Athletic League, placing them in front of Livermore High in terms of standings. The team derived its 1st win against Livermore High on April 19th with a box score of 6-3. Good luck next year!

Coed Badminton

The Badminton team, overall, performed well against teams Clayton Valley Charter, Amador Valley, Quarry Lane, and Dougherty Valley. Varsity Player Rishabh Lenka commented that “Our badminton team was quite successful. We played many games and took the third place in Tri-Valley Badminton  Many athletes competed well in the Girls’ Doubles, Boys’ Doubles, Girls’ Singles, and Boys’ Singles sections of the NCS tournament, where Dublin High won 6th place. The athletes also tried their best in the CIF tournament. Great job to the Badminton team and keep it up for next year!

Girls Lacrosse

This year, the Varsity Girls Lacrosse team posted up a record of 4-14, including a 1-8 record against other teams in the East Bay Athletic League. This places the team at 10th place in the East Bay Athletic League with the team being ahead of  Livermore High in terms of standings. The Junior Varsity team, on the other hand, posted up a record of 6-10, including a record of 3-6 against other teams in the EBAL. The team has shown a lot spirit this year, however, and are optimistic to improve their chances next year!

Boys Golf

This year, the varsity boys golf team dropped to a record of 1-11, where the only win stemmed from the game against Livermore High. When asked about the golf team, Varsity golfer Mickie Enad stated that “The golf team is hella fun. I encourage anyone interested in golf to join. When I play, I’m thinking about how I’m going to set up my next shot in the best possible way. I then analyze the situation the course presents, and then hit.” With their positive attitude, the Golf team is sure to improve next season.

Boys Hockey

This year, the Dublin High Hockey Team finished with the record of 6-4, winning against Livermore, Danville, Granada, Dougherty Valley, Foothill, and California High. Player Brian Kim commented that “We were a team with a mix of both veterans and new players, but we came together to play when we needed to. Our new coach brought some discipline to the team, definitely helping to bring our team to the playoffs. We ended up doing a lot better than everyone expected. I’m definitely proud of our team.” However, the hockey team’s playoff run was cut short after a loss to Amador Valley High on May 5th with a final score of 3-2. “Hopefully our audience gets bigger over the next couple of years. ” Great job to the hockey team and good luck next year!
