Don’t Miss the DHS 2016-17 Dance Classes’ Concert!
On Thursday, May 11th, the beginner’s dance classes at Dublin High School will be hosting their first concert at the Performing Arts Center at 7 PM. The concert is free, but donations are welcome to support the dance program at DHS.
The dance program was started this year by Mrs. Sharlene Sabonis, who previously taught dance at Deer Valley High School in Antioch. Mrs. Sabonis has several years of dance experience under her belt and is thrilled to be leading the dance program at DHS.
“The dance concert is a new program, so you [the audience] can expect some dancers with a lot of experience, and dancers that have never been on stage before,” said Mrs. Sabonis. “You can also expect student choreography.”
“I hope that we will be able to move you with the different elements of dance that the students have put into their choreography,” she continued. “Everyone has different themes so hopefully we can make you happy, emotional… and [I hope that the audience] can just enjoy dance in general.”
The concert will include choreography by Mrs. Sabonis herself, and original choreography by the students, with styles from lyrical to swing to hip hop.
This show is not to be missed! Come and support the dancers and this budding school program.
Your donation will support the student journalists of Dublin High School. Your contribution will allow us to purchase equipment and cover our annual website hosting costs.
