ABOVE: The Class of 2013 is finally next in line for graduation.

It’s that time of the year and every senior’s life will change on this particular day. June 13, 2013 is the date that the seniors have marked on their calendars ever since they started their senior year. Every senior feels various emotions about graduating and moving onto a new life. Graduation is a huge milestone for every high schooler and will forever be remembered even when they are in their thirties and forties. It is the feeling of having their name announced as they walk across the stage with their diploma in hand that will finally strike reality that they really are done with high school for good. The four years of high school have certainly flew by and the seniors have made many memories at Dublin High that they will never forget. The class of 2013 bids farewell to Dublin as they leave their mark.

Here are some quotes from the seniors on their thoughts on graduation:

“Graduating is like the end and the beginning at the same time, we have accomplished so much but at the same time we have our whole lives ahead of us,” says Senior Audrey Hansen-Judd.

“I’m extremely excited but nervous for what the future holds and for the new change of life,” says Senior Sarah Mason.

“I’m still shocked that I’m about to graduate but excited at the same time and ready to experience a whole new road,” says Senior Josh Yu.

“I’m really excited for it, I can’t wait to finally move on with life and see what the future has in store for me,” says Senior Dilpreet Anand.

“Well, it feels unreal and it hasn’t hit me yet!” says Senior Christian Guzman.

“It’s a bittersweet feeling. I’m excited to move on and get to college, but I’m really going to miss high school. It was awesome and it will be hard to say goodbye to all the friends I’ve made,” says Senior Megan Zummo.

“I can’t wait to graduate and look forward to college!” says Senior Brandon Lyons.

“I felt like this year went by really fast so cherish every moment of it and if there’s a chance take it because if you miss it you’ll never know what could’ve happened,” says Senior Tommy Dang.

My name is Alison Martinez and I am currently a senior at Dublin High. What I like most about working for The Dublin Shield is that we let our school know what’s going on around campus by working together as a team and we’re a form of communication for teachers and students. Dublin High has a great amount of school spirit in the student body and gets everyone involved one way or another, whether it’s sports, theatre, or clubs. My favorite place in Dublin is Hacienda Crossings since they have the perfect combination of food, shops and movies there, and it’s a place to hang out on the weekends. In my free time, I like to work out, shoot hoops, and spend time with my family and friends.
